YORK City have confirmed the departure of manager Martin Foyle.
As revealed earlier today, Foyle stepped down after talks with chairman Jason McGill last night in the wake of Tuesday's 5-0 defeat at Mansfield Town.
Foyle, in a statement issued by the club, said: “I would like to thank Jason McGill and his family for giving me the opportunity to manage York City Football Club.
"They have been fantastic with me from day one and have been very supportive. We have had an excellent working relationship.
"Andy Porter and I have lived up here in York six nights a week and worked tirelessly to change the fortunes of the club to get it back to its position of challenging at the top of the league. We have certainly achieved this.
"We have also reached the promotion play-off final and been to Wembley twice and these have been very proud moments in my career.
"We also reached the third round of the FA Cup and played against Premiership opposition. The club record of ten consecutive wins was also a fantastic achievement for all my players.
"With the money from the cup runs, Wembley visits and the sale of Richard Brodie, I know I leave the club in a much healthier position than when I arrived 20 months ago.
"I would like to wish Jason and family, the players, who have all been a pleasure to work with, and all the staff a successful season. Hopefully the club will move on and regain league status in the near future.”
Assistant manager Andy Porter and youth team boss Steve Torpey will be taking charge of the team for tomorrow's Blue Square Bet Premier trip to Tamworth and Monday's clash with Darlington at Bootham Crescent.
