COUNCIL chiefs in York are looking into more efficient ways of delivering their leaflets to the city’s residents.
At the moment City of York Council delivers about 85,000 copies of the Your Ward newsletters by hand, and about 4,000 by post.
The ones sent by post are to addresses considered too remote for hand delivery, or which are inaccessible to non-residents, such as blocks of flats.
A council spokeswoman said: “We’re currently working on a review of the leaflet delivery system with the aim of setting up a centralised delivery system.
“This would aim to make deliveries more efficient, and might even provide a way of gaining access to the buildings which at the moment the Post Office can enter, and we can’t.”
