Three Year 11 students from Tadcaster Grammar School have been praised by their local Tesco store.

Joshua Fox, Nicholas Burton and Samuel Davies, spent two weeks recently on the Trident work placement scheme at the Askham Bar store in York.

Wendy Heptinstall, Trident co-ordinator on behalf of Tesco Stores Ltd, wrote to Geoff Mitchell, head teacher at Tadcaster Grammar School praising the students.

She wrote: “I am writing to let you know what an absolute credit the three Trident students are to your school. They were the most well mannered, polite and hard-working students we have ever had on the Trident scheme for a very long time.”

Mr Mitchell said: “The boys have set a wonderful example, not only for other work experience students, but for the whole school and I will be speaking to each one of them personally to offer my congratulations on this achievement.”

The work experience scheme, now operated through North Yorkshire Business and Education Partnership, provides young people with an opportunity to experience working alongside adults as part of a team and develop and practise a range of new skills.

In recognition of their hard work, the students were presented with Certificates of Achievement from Tesco.
