THE University of York will be the venue for the Liberal Democratic Presidential Hustings tomorrow.
Organised by the University of York Liberal Democrat Society, the event will see Lib Dem party members from across Yorkshire and Humberside convene on the Central Heslington Campus to hear two senior Liberal Democrats argue their positions for party president.
The role of president includes representing the views of the membership to the party’s leadership.
The two candidates are Tim Farron, the MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, and Susan Kramer, the former MP for Richmond Park.
There will also be an address from the Liberal Democrat deputy leader of City of York Council, Coun Carol Runciman.
James Whiteside, the chair of the Liberal Democrat Society, said: “This event is the biggest we have ever held at the university.
“It’s of national importance, and we are all very excited to have two great speakers coming to make their arguments.”
