VISITORS and patients at York Hospital were treated to a carol concert by the York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir.
The choir, which was founded in 1925, performed to a crowd in the hospital foyer.
George Tingle, of the choir’s baritone section, said: “We were asked to perform and we really enjoyed it. It was something that we hadn’t done before.
“There was a crowd of 30 people and others were passing through. Some of the patients that could walk about came down to the foyer to watch us.
“Afterwards we went up to one of the wards and sang a couple more carols because the wife of one of our members was in that ward. She was thrilled to bits. The choir’s like a family; we do a lot of social things together.”
