A MAN has been charged with assault by police investigating the death of a York father-of-six in mysterious circumstances.
North Yorkshire Police said the 26-year-old York man was charged with sexual assault and would appear at York Magistrates’ Court next Wednesday.
A spokesman said the assault was alleged to have happened at an address in Bell Farm on October 27 last year.
The Press reported last November how John Kelly, 46, of Elmfield Avenue, had been found dead in a flat in Bell Farm Avenue, off Huntington Road.
Police said then three men had been arrested and interviewed over an earlier alleged assault at the property. The force said none of the arrests were in connection with causing Mr Kelly’s death. Two of the three were later released without charge.
