PEOPLE from across the community are being urged to get involved in the build-up for a spectacular outdoor staging of York Mystery Plays in the Museum Gardens in August next year.
York Theatre Royal and the Riding Lights Theatre group have invited anyone with an interest in acting, singing, music, photography, costume making, set-building, lighting or make-up to get in touch.
Firstly, they are looking for people to apply to take part in a production this summer of Two Planks And A Passion, a comedy which will have a community cast of 50 and will tell what happened in 1392 when King Richard II came to York to see the Mystery Plays.
Then, on July 18, the Theatre Royal will host a community launch night for the Mystery Plays, offering information on how to get involved and a chance to meet the team behind the scenes.
To register an interest, email mysteryplays2012@yorktheatreroyal.co.uk or write to Liam Evans-Ford at York Theatre Royal, St Leonard’s Place, York, YO1 7HD
