A MOTORCYCLIST suffered serious injuries in a crash near Selby College.
Police were called to Selby bypass, and closed the road near East Common Lane, at 10.55am yesterday, following reports of a crash involving a silver Honda motorbike and a white Vauxhall Astra van, which was turning into Denison Road.
The road was closed between the A1041 and Selby swing bridge, as police and ambulance crews dealt with the incident, but reopened at 12.25pm.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the rider of the motorbike, a 27-year-old man from York, suffered a broken leg and an injury to his spine, and was taken to York Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the van was not injured.
