A YOUNG cyclist suffered head and leg injuries in a collision with a silver Nissan car which failed to stop at the scene.
Police are looking for the driver, who stopped to check for damage to his vehicle, but did not speak with the 12-year-old boy or leave his details.
The incident at 8.20am on Thursday, March 3, in Front Street, Acomb, saw the boy taken to York Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.
PC Michael Cooper said: “Thankfully, the boy was not seriously injured. However, the driver of the Nissan could not have known this as he left the scene without checking. I urge anyone who witnessed the collision or can identify the driver to contact me, as soon as possible.”
Those with information are asked to phone PC Cooper on 0845 6060247, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
