ONE of the biggest annual festivals in York will take place in the city this weekend.
York Peace Festival is expected to draw crowds of more than 5,000 to Rowntree Park tomorrow with a line-up that includes more than 20 bands and musicians. A cabaret, chill-out zone and community stalls selling local, fair-trade and unusual goods will also be on site.
Festival organiser Dylan George says the family-friendly event, which has been held since the 1980s, has something for all ages.
He said: “We’ll be showcasing some of the best regional talent – from musicians, bands, community dance groups and teachers to holistic therapists – alongside global artists.”
Doors open at 11am and the event finishes at 7pm. Entry is free of charge.
