A WOMAN was left with a sprained wrist when she was attacked by a robber in York.
The 52-year-old woman was approached on the railway footbridge between Leeman Road and Wilton Rise at 9.20pm on Thursday.
She was walking up the steps of the bridge heading towards Wilton Rise when a man pushed her in the chest before stealing her bag and making off on a bike towards Holgate Road.
The man is described as white, between 16 and 18-years-old, about 5ft 4ins tall, and of medium build.
He was wearing a black scarf covering the lower part of his face, a long-sleeved white top and blue jeans. Police are appealing to any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
Detective Constable Kendra Bamber, of York CID, said: “The victim was hurt in the incident but, fortunately, her injuries are not serious.
“However, she has been left very shaken and I am urging the public to help us identify the offender.”
