FOUR families have now told North Yorkshire Police that the unidentified woman whose body is to be exhumed in North Yorkshire next week could be their relative.
The woman's remains were found near Sutton Bank in 1981, but despite a lengthy investigation, her identity and cause of death has never been confirmed.
Next Monday, the remains will be removed from a grave at Malton Cemetery to allow forensic experts to recover a sample from the femur bone, to create a DNA profile.
This can be checked against the DNA database and the DNA of the four families who have come forward since the exhumation was announced earlier this month.
