SCIENTISTS from the University of York have taken to the city’s streets as part of the York Festival of Ideas.
Residents and visitors visited St Sampson’s Square to view displays including a giant nose and a plastic leg with maggots, to explore the treatment and prevention of chronic diseases and disorders. The festival, which runs until June 30, aims to provide stimulating and interactive experiences for York residents and visitors, with more than 50 events featuring world-class speakers, exhibitions and performances.
Professor Paul Kaye, acting director of the university’s centre for chronic diseases and disorders, said the event was “a fascinating, entertaining and informative event”, which demonstrated the wide range of work done in the university.”
