A CHARITABLE foundation set up by East Yorkshire artist David Hockney has been boosted to £84 million.
Hockney had previously donated more than £70 million of his own artwork to the David Hockney Foundation, as well as £730,000 in cash.
New records for the charity have now shown he donated paintings worth a further £9.5 million last year, meaning the amount the 75-year-old - who splits his time between living in Bridlington and California - has given is more than double his personal fortune of £34 million.
The work held by the foundation is expected to ultimately be given away to the Tate in London and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
