A WOMAN was left with a strained wrist and hand after she tried to stop robbers stealing her shopping trolley.
The attempted robbery happened at 10.55am on Friday, when the 60-year-old woman was walking down Lime Tree Avenue, Goole. She was approached by an unknown man and woman at the junction with The Malt Kilns.
As the woman asked the victim for a lighter, the man tried to pull away the victim’s shopping trolley. After a short struggle the offenders left towards Broadway without the trolley.
Both suspects were white, in their twenties and wearing dark clothing. The man was about 5ft 9ins tall with a slim build and was wearing a knitted hat. The woman was wearing a dark-coloured coat and beanie-style woollen hat with a small peak at the front.
