EAST Riding of Yorkshire Council is running a course in navigation.
The National Navigation Award Scheme bronze award course will be held at Woldgate Community College, in Pocklington, starting on September 16.
The five-week course will run between 6.30pm and 9pm each week, and will teach participants skills including reading and taking grid references, how to navigate between two points and how to orientate a map with and without a compass. The course will culminate in a one-day assessment walk.
The course costs £50. For further details, phone Brian Bate, community sports coach for outdoor pursuits, on 07899 994830 or email brian.bate@eastriding.gov.uk
