A YOUNG Yorkshire cycling champion has been left devastated after his two prized mountain bikes were stolen from his East Yorkshire home.
Jordan Bateman is currently ranked second in Yorkshire and 31 in the UK in cross-country mountain biking.
But the 14-year-old has been left devastated after his mountain bike and a dirt jump bike were stolen from a shed outside his parents’ home.
His father Paul has made a heartfelt plea for anyone who knows the whereabouts of the bikes stolen from a property on Westfield Avenue, Rawcliffe, Goole, between 9.30pm Wednesday August 24 and 6.15 am the following morning to contact police.
The bikes stolen were a blue and silve r coloured GT Aggressor XC3 mountain bike and a silver and green coloured Saracen Amplitude CR2 dirt jump bike.
Paul said the two bikes stolen were valued at about £2,000, but had both been customised so were “priceless” to his son.
