A York nursery had some unusual visitors – more than a dozen home-made scarecrows.
The annual scarecrow competition took place at Busy Bees Day Nursery, in Eccles Close, Rawcliffe, and about 15 pre-school children created their entries, with a little help.
“We hold this competition every year, for the children to build something with their parents,” said Ali Blyth, nursery manager.
“It’s a way to get the parents involved with the nursery, and a nice extra-curricular activity for them. The entries were all fantastic this year, everyone had put a lot of work in, but we have chosen three winners for the competition, who will be given up to £75 of vouchers.”
The scarecrows are on display in the nursery gardens.
