CHILDREN at Derwent School in Osbaldwick, York, are looking smart after the introduction of a new school uniform.
The outfit, which was designed two years ago by a former pupil, has been updated from maroon to royal blue, and consists of a sweatshirt, a blue or white polo shirt and black, grey or navy trousers.
The school are hoping that the uniform will be more widely accepted by parents and children in its new design,.
Support assistant Mel Airstone said it would be especially important in giving their students a communal identity.
She said: “We hope it gives the children a sense of belonging, and makes them proud of attending Derwent School.”
