About 250 pupils and parents at Headlands School, in Haxby, turned up for the Sustrans Big Bike Breakfast.
They tucked into hot croissants, pastries, tea, coffee and juice and pupils completed cycle challenges before entering a draw to win a new bike from Haxby Cycles.
Naomi Wells-Smith, York’s new Sustrans Bike It Officer, said: “We have held scores of successful Bike Breakfasts ever since we began the Bike It project in York in 2004 – but this looks like it could have broken the record.”
