HUNDREDS of members of the travelling community took part in an annual social event in Selby this weekend.
About 300 people came to the area to take part in a gipsy and traveller “trotting” event, visiting pubs around the town, and travelling between them on horse and carts.
Ian Patterson, landlord of the Gipsy Moth in Flaxley Road, said: “It’s been really good. It was a great atmosphere, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many horses. There must have been more than 55. They asked if next year we can have a barbecue for the event. It’s been fantastic really.”
