Good morning from the team at The Press.

A new working week and we start with two stories about crime. Both are sobering and both may offer some form of hope.
The first is from Harry Booth, who has bad news about the crime rate in inner York. But he has also been speaking to North Yorkshire Police about what they plan to do about it.

The second is about prisoners released into our community after their sentence. Almost every prisoner will be released at some date. How do you prevent them committing more crimes once they are back in the community?
Our court reporter Megi Rychlikova has been talking to one York business that has been tackling this problem for years and recently got badly stung as a result. But the business is determined to keep going and told Megi why.
