SELBY Town are looking for a new assistant manager after Mick Carmody quit to take over as manager of Armthorpe Welfare.
Carmody, who was assistant to Nigel Emery, replaces Brian Johnston who resigned last month after three years in charge.
A statement from Selby Town said: “We would like to thank Mick for all his hard work and dedication he showed at Selby and wish him all the best in his new role. He showed us the potential he has in his short time at Selby Town and we are certain he will do well.”
Selby visit Irlam tomorrow in the FA Vase first qualifying round. Armthorpe, meanwhile, are bottom of the Northern Counties East League premier division without a point from seven games.
Harrogate Railway ‘s assistant manager Martin Powell, meanwhile, has been put in caretaker charge following the resignation of manager Lee Ashforth.
Pickering Town inflicted a 3-0 defeat on Armthorpe on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Joe Danby, Ged Dalton, and Lewis Taylor.
New signing Jules Gabbiadini was not involved and is still awaiting international clearance ahead of tomorrow’s trip to AFC Darwen in the FA Vase.
Midfielder Gabbiadini, the son of former Sunderland and York City striker Marco, has returned to England from the USA where he has been studying and playing for the University of Charleston.
The 22-year-old was on the books at Hull City as a teenager but was released without playing for the first team.
Pickering are now ninth in the table after four consecutive league victories and, significantly, still have two games in hand on leaders Liversedge who are only four points better off.
Manager Paul Marshall led his former club Tadcaster Albion to the quarterfinals of the FA Vase two seasons ago and is seeking another decent run in the competition to compensate for Pickering’s early FA Cup exit against Washington.
“It is a competition that we want to do well in,” he said. “There is a Wembley final to chase and we all felt disappointed going out of the FA Cup.”
Tadcaster Albion return to league action this weekend against Clitheroe in Evo-Stick League First Division North.
Last weekend, Taddy beat Pontefract Collieries in the FA Cup and now play Farsley Celtic in the second qualifying round on Saturday September 17.
Harrogate Town visit Alfreton Town in Vanarama National League North.
