YORK City today released centre-back Joey Hutchinson.
The 25-year-old former Darlington defender joined City on non-contract terms on the eve of the Blue Square Premier season.
Hutchinson asked to be released from his deal, stating that he preferred to sign for a club closer to his family home in the Midlands.
Hutchinson featured in the City squad for four matches this season, making appearances against Exeter, Forest Green and Northwich.
The news of Hutchinson's release follows the signing of Darren Kelly, who made his debut in the 3-2 defeat against Rushden.
