BROKEN leg victim Mark Robinson has returned to training ahead of schedule and could be back in action within a month.
Full-back Robinson was injured making a vital block during York City's 2-1 victory at Ebbsfleet on December 8.
But the 26-year-old defender is now hoping to be back in March to contest the left-wing back role, which is currently occupied by Anthony Lloyd and has also previously been filled by Martyn Woolford.
City boss Colin Walker said: "He has started to jog and has had the all-clear from the specialist. He's very keen to get back into the team quickly because he was really enjoying himself before he got injured. He will give us a bit more competition although Anthony Lloyd played really well on Tuesday."
Walker, meanwhile, has confirmed he is not looking to add another member to his coaching staff.
Prior to being appointed first-team manager on a permanent basis, Walker had indicated he might need to recruit an assistant should he be appointed full-time with the club keen to retain Eric Winstanley in his head of youth role.
Winstanley is combining coaching the juniors with acting as Walker's match-day assistant and the City boss does not want his former Barnsley mentor to relinquish that duty.
Schoolboy coaches Gary Naylor and John Stockton are overseeing youth-team fixtures when Winstanley is travelling with the senior side and Walker said: "Everything's working well.
"Eric gets on with all the players and is still able to do his job with the youth team. Whether that will continue in the future, we will see. Eric's got a lot of experience and has had some good chats with the players.
"The workload isn't a problem either. It doesn't seem like hard work when you've gone 12 games undefeated and both of us enjoy what we are doing. It's a fantastic challenge and a fantastic club to work for. I'm looking forward to the next test."
