YORK City today released midfielder Russell Fry.
The former Hull City player struggled to win a first-team role with the Minstermen after joining from Boston United in September.
He made just two cup appearances - the last in the Setanta Shield fifth round defeat by Northwich - and four substitute appearances in the Blue Square Premier.
Fry recently spent time on loan at North Ferriby and is now expected to join them on a permanent basis.
