YORK City boss Colin Walker has insisted Martyn Woolford remains a major part of his plans for next season despite Football League interest in the highly-rated winger.
Woolford, 22, was watched by Crewe Alexandra director of football Dario Gradi during Saturday's 3-2 home defeat to Woking but Walker stressed there had been no contact from anybody at the League One strugglers since.
The former Frickley Athletic wide man, who has scored 16 goals for City this season, is under contract at KitKat Crescent until the summer of 2009, meaning Crewe would need to pay a transfer fee.
But Walker is thinking ahead on the assumption that Woolford will still be a Minsterman in August.
The City chief said: "I've not had any contact from Dario Gradi at all. I'm trying to figure out our plans for next season because that's the main part of my job now.
"Martyn is part of those plans and is a contracted York City player until something else happens."
Woolford will be one of just 11 fit and available professionals for tonight's home match with Oxford United.
Four players are suspended with Darren Craddock and Tom Evans serving one-match bans for their red cards on Saturday.
Stuart Elliott, who also received his marching orders, has been handed a two-game suspension after seeing red for the second time this season.
They will be joined in the stands by fellow midfielder Simon Rusk, who completes a two-match ban after reaching ten bookings for the season.
Mark Robinson (eye), Darren Kelly (calf), Sam Duncum (hamstring) and Chris Hall (ankle) are all ruled out with injury while Nicky Wroe is not expected to play any further part this season because of a knee problem.
City are also unlikely to risk striker Craig Farrell, who has a bruised foot.
Josh Mimms will be back in goal and former Scarborough utility man Jimmy Beadle will be called into the squad with youth-team trio Adam Boyes, Liam Shepherd and Andy McWilliams all keeping their place in the 16.
But Walker admitted he might need to consider a change of shape and some players may be required to play out of position.
He said: "One or two might have to play in different roles and we might have to go a bit different and get Leo Fortune-West on the pitch to play in a slightly different way.
"Jimmy Beadle comes into the equation and if we were to play three at the back, he could go in there, as could Ben Purkiss. Oxford had a great win beating Farsley 5-1 on Saturday and I'm looking for a response from certain players in our team."
Walker also offered his verdict on Saturday's three red cards after viewing a re-run.
He said: "I can't argue with Darren Craddock bringing somebody down and denying a goalscoring opportunity but Tom Evans' red card was a coming together of bodies and the forward had already passed the ball to somebody else.
"For the third one, Stuart Elliott tried to get in between Martyn Woolford and their player but ended pushing him to the floor."
When asked whether any of the players would be fined, Walker added: "All of them will be dealt with internally."
