KNARESBOROUGH Town have welcomed back promotion-winning captain Will Lenehan ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Lenehan initially joined Boro in 2013, winning the Northern Counties East League Cup at Valley Parade in his first season at the club.
The no-nonsense centre back was also an integral part of the club’s NCEL division one title-winning team in 2018.
Lenehan made 268 appearances for the Manse Lane side before relocating to Manchester for work ahead of the 2021/22 season, with the club admitting that they “can’t wait” to welcome him back.

Knaresborough are not the only North Yorkshire side to have begun confirming players for the upcoming season, with in-demand attacking pair Harry Clapham and Kyle Fish committing their futures to Selby Town.
On the pair, chairman Steve McGarrity told the club’s media team: “I’m extremely pleased to have Kyle confirm his services to Selby ahead of the new campaign.
“Kyle can turn a game and we need players who can step up and do that on the day. Kyle is one of those players.
“He’ll be key to supporting the front two and nicking a few [goals] himself.
“Harry, along with several other players, has so much potential to take this club to where we want to be,” he continued.
“As with last season, Harry was on my retained list from day one.
“He’s had other clubs sniffing but he’s committed again this season and the gaffer [Ryan Cooper] has done well getting it over the line early.
“If we can keep him fit, he has the potential to score goals, and with his pace, he will be a handful again this season.
“This is another piece of the jigsaw finally fitting in.”
