WINGER Peter Bore has followed released midfielder Jimmy Beadle out of the door at York City with his loan spell from Grimsby ending a game early.
Minstermen manager Walker allowed Beadle to join Whitby Town earlier in the week and Bore was sent back to the Mariners ahead of schedule.
Walker said: “Peter Bore started brightly, but I’ve watched him maybe six times and, in two, he was absolutely outstanding and, in four, he was in and out. It’s the same story in training as well.
“As a manager, you don’t want one 8/10 game and then three 4/10. You need regular 7/10s and a level of consistency. He’s a flair player but, at this level, the difference is often the strikers, as Iyseden Christie and Justin Richards have shown in the two games we’ve been beaten. You need people as energetic as they are then we won’t be far away because, at the back and in midfield, we haven’t been too bad.
“Hopefully, Peter Bore will take this disappointment as a kick up the rear end and go back to the new Grimsby manager, kick on and show him that he’s got pace, can turn and score a goal.”
About Beadle’s release, Walker added: “I wish him all the best. He’s not done anything wrong and is a fantastic kid.
“We decided on a team in pre-season and Jim did not feature. We haven’t had many reserve games and he wanted to go out to Whitby and play games.
“He’s enjoyed that and wanted to continue playing there. He might have figured here further down the line, but he’s concentrating on now and I didn’t want to stand in his way.”
Captain Mark Greaves is ready to return to the starting line-up after suffering from the water-based virus cryptosporidium and is likely to replace Ben Wilkinson.
