YORK City will part company with Darren Kelly at the end of the season.
Minstermen chief Martin Foyle has informed the Irish defender in advance to help him in his bid to pursue a career in coaching.
Centre-back Kelly, 29, has recently had back problems and has been restricted to just nine first-team outings this season.
Foyle said: “I’ve had a good chat with Daz. He’s a senior pro and we always try to look after them.
“He was always going to need to play out of his skin to get in the side ahead of David McGurk and Danny Parslow and he’s had his injury problems as well.
“I’ve told him we won’t be renewing his contract, although he is welcome to help out with coaching the youth team as he is keen to get into that side of the game and I will be trying my best to get him a youth job somewhere else.”
