LEADERS Oxford United needed a late equaliser to deny York City victory at Bootham Crescent.
The Minstermen went ahead in the 71st minute of the Blue Square Premier clash, striker Michael Rankine scoring from Andy Ferrell's cross.
However, Simon Clist struck for the visitors with nine minutes remaining and City then had James Meredith sent off for a second bookable offence.
Striker Adam Boyes made a late substitute appearance after re-joining the Minstermen on loan late on Friday.
Boyes left Bootham Crescent for Scunthorpe for an undisclosed fee over the summer, but has returned for a month as cover for the injured Michael Gash.
