YORK City boss Martin Foyle says he won’t be getting carried away despite his side’s impressive 1-0 win over Scunthorpe United last night.
The Minstermen manager watched his team dominate against their Championship opponents and saw a Richard Brodie rocket from 20 yards secure the victory.
But Foyle said: “You can get carried away and you can get caught and I am sure Nigel (Adkins, Scunthorpe manager) will say exactly the same.
“It is nice to know we can hold our own. We got in their faces a bit more in the second half and it was a fantastic finish.
“We did very well. I thought they worked hard and I am delighted with some individual performances.
“We went 4-3-3 for the last half-hour and everything seemed to click. I was really pleased. I thought they gave us a few problems but our work ethic was very good.”
Foyle, pictured right, confirmed that trialist winger David McDermott has signed for City and said a loan deal to bring goalkeeper David Knight to Bootham Crescent for the coming season had nearly been agreed with Histon.
