FORMER York City Supporters’ Trust board member Peter Rookes has been appointed as the club’s financial management consultant.
Rookes will provide the board of directors with regular financial information to assist with budgeting.
The position will represent a more formal advisory engagement with the board for Rookes, who has provided financial support in the past and his services will continue to be offered on a voluntary basis.
Finance director Terry Doyle resigned from his role at the end of last season and Rookes’ appointment is designed to compensate for his loss.
Sophie Hicks, City’s communications director, added: “Peter has been preparing management forecasts for the club for some time but we felt we needed to formalise his position within the organisation.
“He understands the complex financial demands of the football club and we very much appreciate his support.”
