Nestle Flag’s 4-2 win at Wanderers saw them move seven points clear at the top of Ian’s Cars of Barlby Football League division one.

On target for Flag were Jon James, Gary Hutchinson and Ash Hill (2), with Gary Newton and Rich Bedingham replying.

Hounds’ title hopes took a knock after goals from Dave Watson, Mark Woodward and Craig McShane gave Severus a 3-2 win.

Andy Thornton (2) and Tom Garbutt saw Derwent United beat Skelton 3-1 to keep their slim title hopes alive. Skelton’s reply came from Ben Janes.

Bottom side Cliffe are still seeking their first points of the season after losing 4-2 to Enterprise. Danny Pen-rose struck a hat-trick for the visitors.

Acomb Celtic were crowned champions in division two after a 10-1 midweek win at Wigginton Grasshoppers saw them pip long-time leaders Haxby Lions to the title.

Haxby clinched second spot after winning the first game in their double-header against Copmanthorpe 2-1, the second game going Cop’s way 1-0.

Wigginton, despite strikes from Ben Coates and John Cavanagh, lost 4-2 to Albion Vaults, a result that pushes them into the relegation battle.

York Nomads lost 2-1 to Cueball, the clubmen’s goals coming from Andy Thompson and Tom Wheatland, James Wilmott replying.

Acorn eased relegation fears with 7-6 win over bottom side Hambleton thanks to goals from Chris Ellerker (2), Steve Abbot (2), Neal and Luke Richardson and a Kevin Brundrett spot-kick. Hambleton’s scorers were Galen Hill (2), Michael Wilson, John Matthews, Craig Hardy and Paul Tiffany.

Gary Collier came off the bench to score three times in division three title favourites Station’s 7-2 win over local rivals Gypsy Moth. Steve Lyon and Darren Davies hit a brace each.

St John’s are a point behind the leaders after beating Shoulder of Mutton 4-1. Shoulder’s only goal came from veteran Adam Ellis.

Ross Bardy struck four times in Britannia Tadcaster’s 5-2 win at Acomb Athletic, Aaron North and Matty Jackson replying.

Acomb WMC thrashed Forest FC 11-0 to take the division four north title.

Anthony Evans, Steve Cross, Neil Ducey, Michael O’Shaughnessy and Matty Horner all scored twice.

Leeman United finished runners-up after beating Dynamo Megahorse 5-1 – the reply coming from goalkeeper Stuart King, Raskelf, with Andy Metcalf, Matty Goddard and Josina Williams all hitting braces, beat Linton-on-Ouse 7-3.

Hemingbrough ended with a 7-3 win over Selby RSSC, Joe Dack (2), Matty Clarke (2), Nick Brookes (2) and Selby’s Gregorsz Mleczek all bagging doubles.

In division four south, FC Barlby inflicted the first defeat of the season on champions Dunnington to claim second spot and a place in the play-off finals. Lee Carter hit the only goal.

A second-half hat-trick from Ollie Craske helped Fox FC come from 2-0 down to beat Huntsman 4-3.

Phil Martin scored twice as Acomb Albion beat Turf Tavern 3-2.

The division four play-off finals will take place this Sunday at New Earswick. Acomb WMC play Dunnington for first/second and Leeman play Barlby for third/fourth.
