Severus remain top of division one in the Ian’s Cars of Barlby Sunday Morning Football League after coming from behind to beat Enterprise 3-2.

Trailing 2-0 at the break after Steve Whelerton had struck twice for Enterprise, Severus hit back in the second period with goals from Philip Jones, Mark Triffitt and Joe Deppa to stay three points clear.

Reigning champions Nestlé Flag missed out on the chance to close the gap on the leaders after they were held 3-3 by rivals Haxby Lions.

With two goals from Chris Dyson and an Ash Hill strike, Flag were 3-2 up with five minutes to go when Dale Waddington struck a leveller.

Haxby’s earlier goals were bagged by Pete Dransfield.

Acorn maintained their hundred per cent record to stay top of division two after Leigh Dutton hit all their goals in the 3-2 win over Cueball, for whom Amos Laverack was twice on target.

Wigginton Grasshoppers’ good form continued as they saw off St John 4-1.

Goals from Steve Jarvis, Matty Tiplady and Luke Roberts put them in command before Jarvis struck again midway through the second period. Substitute Paul Rowe hit a late consolation.

Hat-tricks from James Wilmoth and Nick Rank, plus solo goals by Chris Smith and Scott Backhouse, sealed York Nomads’ 8-1 hammering of bottom side Marcia Grey.

Despite dropping their first points of the season after going down 5-2 at Hemingbrough, Dunnington remain top of the third division.

Hemingbrough’s hit-men were Luke Zacharenko (2), Nick Brookes, Craig Haythorne and Adrian Wood. Robert Hart and Dave Potter replied.

Three goals from Myron Turbine, plus a Callum McKenzie strike, underpinned Shoulder of Mutton’s 4-1 win over FC Barlby as they moved into second – three points behind the leaders and with a game in hand. Rob Baker was Barlby’s scorer.

Leeman United made it three wins out of three as they saw off New Earswick 7-1 with goals Craig Fletcher (2), Jack Clayton, Jamie Dawe, Jamie Moore, Daniel Midgley and Rich Johnstone.

York Medics, with a hat-trick from Greg Chambers, plus a Mark Fawthrop strike, move into top spot in division four after beating Bubwith Nomads 4-2.

William Nicholson and Michael Hemingway replied.

Lee Ward struck three times and Gary Pearson once in Huntsman’s 4-1 win at Dinamo Megahorse, whose Ash Adkins scored.

Acomb Athletic won their first game this term beating fellow strugglers LNER Builders 8-1 with goals from Alec Wright (2), Marc Stockdale (2), Aaron North, Matty Jackson, Mike Martin and Gary Walgate.

The Builders’ reply was netted by Neil Hinde.

Bottom side Linton-on-Ouse paid the price for a poor first half performance that saw them go in at the break 5-0 down to visitors Huntington WMC for whom Shane Bogg (3), Sean Aylett and Paul West were on target.

Linton improved after the break but their lone reply was an Ian Corner penalty as the only goal of the second half.
