THE Arctic freeze continued to wreak havoc with sport.
The entire Blue Square Bet Premier Boxing Day programme was wiped out.
And close on half of this afternoon’s Blue Square top-flight fixtures, including York City’s trip to Altrincham, were casualties of the icy conditions.
Also badly hit was today’s Northern Counties East League, where every premier division and first division tie was postponed, including the eagerly-awaited top-flight derby between Selby Town and Pickering Town.
Harrogate Town’s Blue Square Bet North trek to Boston United was also KO’d by a frozen pitch, while yesterday’s EvoStik League first division north game between Harrogate Railway and Wakefield was shelved because of a snowy and ice-bound Station View pitch.
