Leeds United chairman Ken Bates has vowed to take legal action if the club is sold to a rival bidder.
Administrators KPMG put the club up for sale on Friday after Bates' buy-back deal was challenged in the High Court by the Inland Revenue.
KPMG have set a deadline of 5pm today to receive offers for the club with two consortia, who have already lodged separate bids, believed to be holding talks about joining forces with a "super-bid".
But Bates warned he will not go out without a fight and confirmed he had resubmitted his offer for the club.
He claims rival bidders, local property developer Simon Morris and London-based Redbus Group, have made offers they could struggle to meet.
Former Hull chairman Adam Pearson, a director at Elland Road until 2001, and multi-millionaire Pete Wilkinson are also reportedly poised to make a move for the club.
Meanwhile, United got their pre-season campaign off to a winning start with a 2-0 victory away to Shelbourne on Saturday.
Robbie Blake and David Prutton - the former Southampton midfielder on trial at Elland Road - were the goalscorers in Dublin.
United used a total of 21 players, changing their outfield ten at half-time at Tolka Park. The trialists used by manager Dennis Wise included goalkeeper Danny Gay, formerly of Norwich and Southend, ex-Sheffield Wednesday defender Graham Coughlan and former Hull midfielder Russell Fry.
United's next friendly is against York City at KitKat Crescent on Friday (7.45pm).
