NORTH Yorkshire golfer Simon Dyson exited the Portugal Masters at the halfway stage.
A one over par round of 72 – added to an opening 70 – meant York-born Dyson missed the cut by two shots at the Oceanico Victoria course in the Algarve.
A run of 13 pars in the first 14 holes of round two sandwiched a bogey four at the 218-yard sixth hole. Although he erased that drop with a three at the par four 15th, a bogey at the par three 16th ended his involvement.
There was a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard with Englishmen Paul Waring and David Lynn joined by South Africa’s Hennie Otto on 12 under par.
