York ace Dyson and Harrogate-based Parry were paired together for the opening two rounds and they returned identical 13-under par totals for their four rounds.

After heading into the weekend at five-under Parry stormed to a round of 64 on Saturday, but his surge was stalled by a level par 72 yesterday.

Dyson, meanwhile, was left ruing a quadruple-bogey nine on the 17th in round three. Those four shots cost him a possible runner-up finish.

But the 32-year-old bounced back in the final round with a six-under 66 featuring seven birdies and only one dropped shot.

North Yorkshire’s finest, who both picked up cheques for 37,440 euros, were five shots shy of winner Richard Green. The Australian’s closing 65 saw him to the title, two clear of fast-finishing Francesco Molinari (62) and Robert Karlsson (67).
