HEWORTH cricketer Jack Leaning has been named in a 15-man England Under-19s squad to tour Australia next month.

The 18-year-old Yorkshire seconds batsman has retained his place after making his international debut on the recent trip to Bangladesh.

England U19s will take on the host country, India and New Zealand in a quadrangular one-day series, which is a warm-up tournament for this summer’s U19s World Cup, also in Australia.

Tim Boon, England development programme head coach, said: “This tournament will be a fantastic opportunity for all the players to gain experience of Australian conditions and test themselves against quality opposition ahead of the ICC’s U19 World Cup.”

England will arrive in Australia on Monday, April 2 and take on the hosts in Townsville, Queensland, on Thursday, April 5.

They face New Zealand on Saturday, April 7 and then India on Monday, April 9.

The semi-finals will be held on Friday, April 13, with the final on Sunday, April 15.
