York Ladies suffered their second defeat of the Women’s Winter Rugby League season when losing 36-6 to leaders Castleford Panthers – but the scoreline did not reflect the game.
York travelled with only 12 players and they were made to pay as Cas crossed for five tries to lead 26-0 at half-time.
Castleford added to lead after the break but York mounted pressure on the Cas line and scored a try and conversion through stand-off Teri Chu.
Castleford crossed for an unconverted try midway through the half but York held out for the remainder of the match.
