YORK City have swooped for Middlesbrough youngster Jack Stott, who joins on a loan deal until the New Year.

Stott becomes York's fourth signing in less than 24 hours, as well as the club 17th new addition of the Summer.

The 19-year-old joins City on a loan deal ending on January 1, from Sky Bet Championship outfit Middlesbrough, having made 11 appearances and scoring one goal for Boro's under-21's side last season.

Stott was named as the under-21's captain and netted on the opening day of the current Premier League 2 season, in Middlesbrough Under-21's 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.

Able to operate at central midfield or as an attacking midfielder, Stott was also named on the Middlesbrough bench for their 2-1 defeat to Premier League side Luton Town last April, but is yet to make his professional debut for the Michael Carrick's side.

City fans will have already received a glimpse of their new man, after Stott featured in Middlesbrough's 0-0 draw at the LNER Community Stadium in pre-season.

Stott will be available for York's trip to Dorking Wanderers tomorrow afternoon, and could challenge the likes of Olly Dyson, Quevin Castro, Paddy McLaughlin, Mitch Hancox, Dan Batty and Scott Burgess for a starting position.
