YORK City are poised to unveil Forest Green Rovers midfielder Jonathan Smith as their third summer signing later this week.
The Press understands that City and Forest Green have agreed a small compensation fee for the 23-year-old and the deal will be rubber-stamped following a medical at Bootham Crescent.
Smith, who previously played alongside Minstermen midfielder Alex Lawless for Forest Green, has scored eight goals in each of the last two Blue Square Bet Premier seasons.
He started his career at Morecambe, where he made one appearance in the Football League Trophy the day after his 19th birthday in October 2005.
Smith, who has spent three seasons in Gloucester, will join fellow new boys Greg Young and Duane Courtney for the upcoming campaign.
