KETTERING Town’s new manager Marcus Law will be hoping to extend a remarkable 62-game unbeaten league run when he takes his seat in the opposition dugout at York City tonight.

Law got his Kettering career off to a winning start during Saturday’s 2-1 home victory over Hayes and Yeading United and was no stranger to success at his previous club Barwell.

He left the Leicestershire club top of the Evo-Stik first division south and boasting a 100 per cent record from their opening eight fixtures.

Prior to this term Law also guided Barwell to the Midlands Football Alliance title and the semi-finals of the FA Vase.

His achievements prompted controversial Kettering chairman Imraan Ladak to take the ex-Bristol Rovers goalkeeper to Rockingham Road as Lee Harper’s permanent successor following Morrell Maison’s spell in caretaker-charge.

Law, who combined managing Barwell with a role working for Aston Villa’s academy, wasted no time in making his first signing for the Poppies.

Darlington reserve ’keeper Kelvin Jack was recruited on loan last Friday and made his debut against Hayes, replacing Nathan Abbey in goal.

The Northamptonshire outfit will have Ashley Westwood back from a three-match suspension tonight but he is unlikely to break the central-defensive partnership of John Dempster and ex-Minsterman Luke Graham.

During Westwood’s enforced absence, Kettering have climbed to 17th with seven points from a possible nine.

Striker Moses Ashikodi (knee) and left-back Sol Davis (thigh), meanwhile, are both ruled out through injury and Law is expected to make no changes to his starting line-up.

Kettering have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight games but seven-goal leading marksman Jean-Paul Marna has been a reliable threat at the other end of the pitch.

Marna has averaged a goal a game over the last five matches, during which time he hit a hat-trick against Altrincham.

Probable team: Jack; Noubissie, Dempster, Graham, Taylor; Dance, Solkhon, Boucaud, Makofo; Christie, Marna.
