FORMER Ghana under-20 international Papa Agyemang has been taken on trial by York City for a month.
Midfielder Agyemang, now 26, is a free agent having left Maltese side Vittoriosa Stars and had a brief spell with Scottish Premier League side Motherwell.
The ex-Brentford trainee, who also went on trial with Premier League Fulham earlier in his career, numbers Wealdstone and Braintree Town among his previous clubs and has also spent time playing in Turkey, Germany and Ghana.
He is now set to play for the Minstermen in a behind-closed doors game against Leeds United at Bootham Crescent on Monday.
City chief Gary Mills said: “We’ve got him here for a month and he’s a player that’s available so we will have a good look at him.”
• The funeral of City legend Norman Wilkinson will take place on Tuesday, February 8 at Mountsett Crematorium, starting 10.15am.
Tributes can be sent to c/o Marge Wilson, Holly Hill Care Home, Durham Road, Stanley, Co Durham, DH9 6QZ.
