YORK City are still on the lookout for potential transfer targets.

Manager Gary Mills has worked fast since the transfer window reopened at the start of the month, bringing in Scott Brown from Fleetwood Town and Matthew Blinkhorn from Irish outfit Sligo Rovers.

And he said: “We keep looking. I am happy with my squad but you are never satisfied. I’ve been happy with my squad from the word go. We work well together and hard. We have done a lot of talking and soul searching between us.”

While Mills has not given up on overhauling Fleetwood and Wrexham to win the Blue Square Bet Premier, he also said if his side were forced to settle for a play-off position, it didn’t really matter where that meant York finished in the ladder.

“It’s a long old season and we have turned into the new year in a play-off position,” he said.

“As much as I would like to be number one, and the ultimate aim is to finish top there are no two ways about that, I don’t think it matters whether you are second or fifth. It really doesn’t. It’s whether you are in the play-offs.”
