YORK City Knights reserves gave arguably their worst performance of the season when losing 42-18 at Keighley.
Mick Ramsden’s men trailed only 22-18 at half-time of Thursday night’s match – with tries by Dan Mole, who added three conversions, Lee Waterman and debutant Jack Law – but the hosts went away with the game thereafter.
Brett Waller, Ed Smith and Paul Stamp all pulled out of the squad before kick-off, with Waller and Smith promoted to last night’s first team, and niggling injuries to Joe Hemmings (knee), Jack Stearman (ankle) and Brett Turner (hip) did not help. Youngster Giles Smith also lacked match fitness.
Try-scorer Law was promoted from the under-18s squad.
