YORK City Knights forward Jack Stearman suffered a dislocated elbow only 20 minutes into his international debut as his Scotland side beat Ireland 26-6 in the autumn triangular tournament.
The New Earswick All Blacks amateur, who was picked to start the game in Glasgow, was injured as he stretched out in an effort to score a try.
Stearman, who was taken to hospital and had the elbow put back in place under anaesthetic, said: “I was nervous, but I settled quickly and went pretty well until the injury.
“I will be in plaster for a couple of weeks and then the rehab starts, so I will miss the next game against France in a fortnight.”
Knights youngster Sean Carmody played for Ireland as a substitute.
