TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 8th day of January 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8) and (9).

(1) TANG HALL LANE & ALCUIN AVENUE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Tang Hall Lane, York between its junction with Lang Avenue and Alcuin Avenue and (ii) Alcuin Avenue, York (closed road) during the period when footway and carriageway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 12th day of January 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 27th day of March 2015 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restrictions at each location will be put into effect at different times during works period. An alternative route for the diverted traffic at each location will be signed.

(2) BURTON STONE LANE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Burton Stone Lane between its junctions with Clifton and a point 40 metres north east of the said junction (closed road) during the period when new water connection works have been undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 2000hrs on the 13th day of January 2015 or on at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Clifton, Avenue Terrace, Avenue Road, Burton Stone Road and vice versa.

(3) GRAPE LANE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Grape Lane, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 1800hrs on the 19th January 2015 and ending at 2300hrs on the 21st day of January 2015 (works period) or at a time when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only be undertaken during the evening period between 1800hrs and 2300hrs each night during works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(4) CINDER LANE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Cinder Lane between its junctions with Heworth Green and Wood Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on 19th day of January 2015 and ending at 1600hrs on the 30th day of January 2015 or at time when footway reconstruction works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Heworth Green, Eastern Terrace, Wood Street and vice versa.

(5) BARR LANE, STOCKTON ON THE FOREST
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Barr Lane, Stockton on the Forest (closed road) during the period commencing at 0730hrs on 19th day of January 2015 and ending at 1600hrs on the 13th day of February 2015 or at time when bridge repair works have been completed thereon whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Malton Road (A64), Hazelbrush Lane, Sandy Lane and vice versa.

(6) CLIFTON, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Clifton, York between its junctions with St Olave’s Road and Burton Stone Lane (closed road) during a period commencing at 2000hrs on 22nd day of January 2015 and ending at 0400hrs on 23rd day of January 2015 or on a time when the central footbridge deck reinstatement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Clifton (A19), Shipton Road (A19), A1237, Wigginton Road (B1363), Clarence Street, Gillygate, Bootham and vice versa.

(7) SIM BALK LANE, BISHOPTHORPE
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Sim Balk Lane, Bishopthorpe between a point 50 metres north west and 50 metres south east of the A64(T) over bridge (closed road) during the period commencing at 1900hrs on 26th day of January 2015 and ending at 0600hrs on the 25th day of April 2015 (works period) or at time when bridge maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during the ten overnight periods, between 8.00pm and 6.00am during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Sim Balk Lane, Tadcaster Road, Knavesmire Road, Campleshon Road, Bishopthorpe Road, Church Lane, Sim Balk Lane and vice versa.

(8) STRENSALL NO. 3 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 3 Level Crossing on Lords Moor Lane, Strensall (closed road) during the period commencing at 2300hrs on 27th day of January 2015 and ending at 0645hrs on the 28th day of January 2015 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via The Village, York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Flaxton Road, Lords Moor Lane and vice versa.

(9) LYNDSEY AVENUE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Lindsey Avenue, York between the respective eastern and western property boundary of No. 164 Lindsey Avenue (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 19th January 2015 and ending at 1630hrs on the 23rd day of January 2015 (works period) or at a time when connection works to nearby substation being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
