TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, made an Order on the 20th day of January 2015 continuing in force the restrictions in respect of the following location.

CLIFTON, YORK

This Order will continue in force The York (Clifton) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2015 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on 23rd January 2015. This is necessary to ensure that central footbridge reinstatement works can be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Clifton, York between its junctions with St Olave’s Road and Burton Stone Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 04001 hours on the 23rd day of January 2015 and ending at 0400hrs on the 30th day of January 2015 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect, between 2030hrs on Thursday 29th January and 0400hrs on Friday 30th January 2015. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Clifton (A19), Shipton Road (A19), A1237, Wigginton Road (B1363), Clarence Street, Gillygate, Bootham and vice versa.

The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will it prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
